The version of alloy 347H (UNS S3409) stainless steel filler wire with a greater carbon content (0.04–0.010). It was created with better strength at temperatures above 1000°F (537°C) and improved creep resistance. The carbon content of the filler wire typically allows for dual certification.
This material will yield the exact tough, stringy chips and is slightly more durable than 304 stainless. Forging, upsetting, and other hot work procedures are performed at working temperatures of 2100-2250 °F (1149-1232 °C). The minimum temperature at which this alloy may be worked is 1700 °F. (927 °C).
