After being exposed to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800 - 1500°F (427 - 816°C), it exhibits excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion. The alloy has higher creep and stress rupture qualities than alloys 304 and 304L and is resistant to oxidation up to 1500°F (816°C). It was made with improved creep resistance and increased strength at temperatures above 1000 °F (537 °C) in mind.
