What is SS 304H?

A variation of the most popular "18-8" chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel is alloy 304H. It is a cost-effective, adaptable corrosion-resistant alloy that may be used in various general-purpose applications. The high carbon chemistry of 304H makes it possible for 304 to satisfy 304H's demands for mechanical characteristics and grain size. This Alloy has general corrosion resistance.

It is resistant to corrosion in mildly oxidising and reducing conditions and in the atmosphere. It is nonetheless susceptible to carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone of welds because of its high carbon content. Alloy 304H is not magnetic when it is annealed. However, cold working or welding can make it mildly magnetic. It is simple to weld and process using standard fabrication shop techniques.
